Burnt Ship Bay Estate Winery Ltd., a new vineyard project owned by the Puglisi and Morgenstern families, has been chosen as the official wine supplier for the Hockey Hall of Fame.
The winery only began selling their wines to Ontario restaurants, golf courses and hotels a month ago.
"It is an honour to have our hand crafted wines served during numerous events at this iconic memorial to Hockey's greatest players," said Luciano Puglisi, the winery's CEO.
Puglisi was named Ontario's Grape King in 2008 and also owns PondView Estate Winery in Niagara-on-the-Lake. He partnered with Marcel Morgenstern in this new winery project that focuses on making wine from their estate grown grapes.
Morgenstern started his career in the Niagara wine industry as a tour guide and has held management positions with a couple of well-recognized local wineries. He has been selling and promoting VQA Niagara wines for the past 15 years.
Their winemaker is Fred DiProfio.
Burnt Ship Bay Estate Winery Ltd., was founded in 2013. It is named after a little bay in the Upper Niagara River, where in 1759, during the Seven Years' War it became the final resting place for some treasure laden French ships.
